Information problems
Jo Twist (2005), in “Controversy blights UN net summit” said that UN summit asserts that sharing information should be a freedom in cyberspace and we need to be watched about forums and international standards in the world. More than 170 countries and 17,000 participants joined the world summit, which was the biggest we had ever had, in Tunis. Poorer countries need support of funds more. Information should be shared equally and rightly. Our problems in cyberspace are differences between poor countries and rich countries, appropriate information, and crimes.
First, in the world, there are a variety of things among countries. Poor countries have insufficient management of the net and technology, because of a lack of funds. A variety of differences make unfairness in the world. For example, although rich countries can do anything like having high technology and management, on the other hand, these are difficult for poor countries to do by themselves. We have to effort to decrease differences between each other and support funds for freedom of information.
Second, information has to be censored and managed rightly for people, and then people can use the Internet safety. We can get wrong information and irrelevant influence anytime in the Internet. Everybody can watch videos whatever they want, even children. For example, there are pornography and violence. They might be affected badly by this information from You Tube.
Third, Internet can be used for crimes, because they tell a lot of lies, you can lie, and even make economic fraud, on the Internet. For example, people can buy and sell products easily in Internet. Some people swindle people out of money. People should watch things to the end to notice whether the information is right or not.
In conclusion, Internet problems happen among advanced nations and developing countries. We have to support each other about freedom to get information, although problem happens because of differences. And, we have to get right information from the Internet. And then, people should avoid doing criminal things on the net. I hope that we can share information equally in the world, and we use the Internet adequately.
