YouTube Censorship

Abstract
The topic of this paper is censorship of YouTube showing videos in the world. It argues that YouTube hasto have responsibility. There are three reasons for this argument. The first is that YouTube made people hurt. The second is that they freedom with no responsibility. The third is that They are mischievous and immoral.

Lately, YouTube is shared with so many people in the world. YouTube is shared with a lot of people all over the world. YouTube is entertainment and is a source of information for people. However, they have many problems for people and with countries in the world. There is no specific law against videoing violence (Revoir, 2007) In fact, there are so many claims about their inappropriate videos. For example, there are violent, religious, racial, individual, and sexy videos. “Those clips are very harsh to the feelings of Thai people and our culture” (The Nation, 2007.para 13). They repeat the same problem, although the nation insists on removing the video. YouTube is immoral, because they are using freedom of speech in making fun of the king of Thailand and keep showing unacceptable clips on the site. YouTube’s problems are caused by three reasons. They made people hurt by showing videos. That’s why YouTube was blocked in some countries. And they don’t have responsibility showing wrong videos to people in the world. And then, they are so mischievous and immoral.

YouTube was established in February 2005. They were bought by Google Inc. for 1.6 billion. YouTube is the site offering clips that anybody can share, by website, blog, mail, or cell phone. And YouTube contacted with CBS, BBC, Universal Music Group, Sony Music Group, Warner Music Group, NBA, Sundance Channel, and the others. Clips on YouTube have been watched by us every day.

First, YouTube made people feel very bad in a few ways. They broke individual reputations by showing clips in the world. One country is a splendid individual. It definitely should not be offended. For example, American people have strong pride as citizens in America. According to the Nation (2007), people in Thailand got hurt from a clip on You Tube. The content of the clip was denying the majesty of an individual. It is a problem that is showing knocking videos to people in the world just for fun in the other country. Moreover, “The clip was seen 16,000 times by people around the world” (The Economist, 2007, para.3). “But Thailand is only one of a growing number of countries that are worried about the power of Internet video, which cuts across linguistic borders and allows individuals anywhere to publish dissident tracts, sexually risqué films or other undesirable user generated content” (Pfanner. 2007). Another, YouTube, whitch is earning a huge amount, gets 1700 viewers of a bullying video. Panorama found hundreds of violent clips on YouTube (Revoir, 2007) YouTube doesn’t care if we put upany knocking videos about someone. Anyway they want to show movies for fun. Actually, people’s dignity has been lost so far and people have been damaged.

Second, they need to have responsibility. Anything in this world should be with responsibility anytime, even if it is freedom. YouTube is not controlling its freedom, because their site is sharing us all over the world; they keep having mistakes. So problems happen. “The incident shows how poorly the security of the Web is maintained” (Thai press report, 2008. Para 3). “The problem with this system is that video that seems inoffensive to viewers in San, California, where YouTube is based, can be incendiary in other places, at least to some individuals or governments” (Pfanner, 2007, para 18). We can see that they have so many objections from different countries. “In general, Debert said, Internet censorship is on the rise globally. The Open Net Initiative found that over the past year, more than two dozen countries regularly blocked sites entirely or filtered out content they considered offensive” (Pfanner, 2007, para 21). You too can bring down YouTube. Pakistan’s state-owned telecommunications company managed to cut YouTube off the World Wide Web for a couple hours recently. This shows us how fragile a web site YouTube is (Thai press passports, 2008, para 2) A Turkish also had problem with YouTube Tim Wu, an internet expert at Columbia Law School in New York, says sites like YouTube face huge problems if they wield editional power, and huge problems if they don't (The Economist, 2007, April 14). They made big international problems. They should have responsibility to manage this site and show us only right videos by using censorship in the world.

Third, YouTube seems like a cowardly company. Although they made the same problem as Thailand for China before, they did it again. This is because Thailand is so much less powerful compared to China. ”They asked that YouTube remove the clip. If YouTube had done so, the matter would have ended there. But YouTube said no. This forced the ICT to move last Wednesday to block the entire YouTube site” (The Nation, 2007, para 4). Such actions are inconsistent with good sense. “A Turkish court last month responded to the clips that appeared to denigrate Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of modern Turkey, by ordering Internet providers to block access to YouTube. Iran has been barring YouTube and several other Western Web sites since December, objecting to corrupting influences” (Pfanner, 2007, para 20). YouTube keeps showing many wrong videos, although they have claims by people every time. That is why, the Nation says, “YouTube users have to discuss free speech, censorship, and cultural sensitivity” (The Nation. 2007, para 9). They are cheating for money. It is difficult to understand as a big company. We can not think that YouTube works well and has a good effect on people in the same situation. They need to work having moralty and justice.

In conclusion, people should not feel painful about the site. Next, YouTube’s security and censorship has been criticized by people in countries all over the world. And then YouTube has to be right and regret having problems between themselves and others. They need censorship, if any clip should be shown or not, for each video as soon as possible. YouTube should show only right videos for everybody like children and any person. Individual dignity should be protected in the world. The clips on sites should not affect us. We can say that YouTube is head of global communications, so we want them to have edit clips edited properly all the time. They need to manage properly. People in the world should ask them to do right work nowadays.

The Wikipedia Controversy

We live in the age of information nowadays. A lot of people often use Internet to get any information more easy, because it is convenient and is a faster way to find any information. “Approximately 38 million people visited the English language version of the site in December 2006. Wikipedia is also easy to find; it frequently appears at the top of many Google searches and access is completely free” (Byers. 2007, para.3). We have a lot of searching sites such as Wikipedia and Google ; people in the world can use the sites anytime for free. So, students also use the information sites for homework, researching, and papers, or for any school work. However, there are some problems between school and the Wikipedia. Students have to study, know the dangers, and find and collect information with responsibility.

First, using Wikipedia is not a good idea for students. Students want to and must study with high motivation. Study means investigate, read, and think. Professors have already found that students should not use information on the site for their study. “Middlebury College, a prestigious liberal arts school in Vermont, recently announced that its history department had banned the citation of Wikipedia for history papers and exams (Byers.2007, para.1). Information on it might be helpful, but they should not use it for papers and exams.

Second, the information is dangerous. Anyone anytime can change the information. People can believe wrong information. It is possible to have problems with the information. “While encyclopedias and journals are generally authoured by scholars and peer reviewed before publication, Wikipedia articles can be written and edited by anyone at anytime, bringing about a debate over the risk of giving those outside academia the power to create and contribute to articles on scholarly subjects. Furthering this, users can add, alter, or remove information without registering user account, giving those who visit the site free and anonymous reign over the available information” (Wolverton. 2007, para. 7). There is unclear information. We have to use it carefully.

Third, we have to find and use information with responsibility. And we want to use and collect only right information. Information on site is susceptible and weak. “It is not the number of articles available on Wikipedia that is up for debate, though. The argument amongst scholars is that the information available on Wikipedia is not necessarily accurate and that the articles themselves are particularly susceptible to Internet vandalism” (Wolverton, 2007. para.11).
In conclusion, we study by ourselves, be careful, and find right information. Wikipedia is convenient but right. We should use internet carefully in ths information society. We need to have responsibility in using any information all the time.

YouTube Censorship
Lately, YouTube is shared with so many people in the world. Most people can watch videos and put any videos on this site anytime. YouTube is entertainment and a source of information for people. You Tube is immoral, because they are using freedom of speech in making fun of the king of Thailand. Those video clips are very harsh for people in Thailand. They don’t have censorship and care about knocking videos. You Tube’s problems are individual harm, freedom with no responsibility, and mischief for people in the world.

First, YouTube made people hurt in several ways. They broke individual reputations by showing movies that hurt them to people in the world. For example, people inThailand got hurt the video on YouTube. One country is a splendid individual. All of the people all over the world can watch videos and put in any videos, even if it is harmful one for somebody. You Tube has no responsibility for that work. For example, they don’t care if we put any knocking videos for somebody on the site. Actually, people’s dignity has been lost so far. This is the big international problem.

Second, freedom in this world means peace with responsibility any time. You Tube is not controlling freedom, because although they are using sharing videos they keep having mistakes. For example, they talk about freedom, but there are too many objections. They should be right by using censorship to show a lot of videos in the world. Anybody can share and put videos on the site anytime. People should share only right videos.

Third, You Tube seems cowardly. Although they made the same problem as Thailand for China before, they did it again. This is because Thailand is so much less powerful compared to China. Such actions are inconsistent with good sense. We can not think that You Tube works well and have good effect for people the same situation.

YouTube insists on freedom. They said “No”, when the nation asked to remove the video . They are not right, because they are ignoring the fact that freedom has to be with responsibility. They actually don’t work in freedom, although they insist freedom. It is not forgiveness of problems, because they show us the video for making fun. A lot of people have gotten hurt so far.

In conclusion, they need censorship, if any clips should are shown or not, for each video as soon as possible. YouTube should show only good videos for everybody from now on. Individual majesty absolutely should be protected in the world. They need to manage properly. People in the world should ask them to do right work.

YouTube Censorship

I became interested in censorship of YouTube. YouTube is shared with a lot of people all over the world. We can watch videos and put videos on this site anytime. The site is actually convenient and interesting. However, You Tube had claims from many countries. Their site shows people in the world in immoral clips. According to the Nation (2007), people in Thailand got hurt from a clip on You Tube. The content of the clip was denying the majesty of an individual. The problem was showing knocking video to people in the world for just fun, although people feel so bad. The clip was seen 16,000 times by people around the world (The Economist, 2007, para.3) They don't care about it. YouTube has no responsibility to manage this site, although the same problem happened in China before. They said no, when people asked them to remove the clip. They needed to have censorship if clips should be shown or not. In fact, YouTube has no censorship policy.

In my paper, I plan to argue that You Tube should watch out if every video is right or not. First, YouTube is spiteful. Next, they admitted to putting on immoral and wrong videos. In addition, they have no responsibility for their work. In conclusion, YouTube affects people on the Internet.

I have found a variety of articles that show You Tube has a disadvantage. Also, I have found many authors who criticize You Tube. I still need to find an article about how YouTube has problems with people in countries.

Freedom comes with responsibility

The Nation (2007), in “Freedom comes with responsibility” said that You Tube has to have censorship, because they repeated the same harm to the countries in the world. In a debate between people in Thailand and You Tube, You Tube is comparing the king of Thailand and George Bush. You Tube is claiming that they are using freedom of speech in making fun of the king of Thailand. Those video clips are very harsh for people in Thailand. You Tube’s problems are individual harm, freedom with no responsibility, and mischief for people in the world.

First, You Tube hurts individual things in the world by showing video clips. One country is a splendid individual. All of the people in all over the world can watch videos and put in any videos, even if it is harmful one for somebody. You Tube has no responsibility for that work. For example, they don’t care if we put any knocking videos for somebody on the site. Actually, people’s dignity has been lost so far. This is the big international problem.

Such actions are inconsistent with good sense. We can not think that You Tube works well and have good effect for people the same situation.

In conclusion, YouTube has invaded a lot of individuals so far. They need to have responsibility to manage this site as freedom. And they should show us only good clips except being wicked for somebody. I suppose that responsibility supports freedom. You Tube is also used in good ways by people in the world. So they still should be more right by using censorship.

Whose tube? ; Censorship and Internet

The author of “whose Tube ? : Censorship and Internet” (April 14, 2007) said that You Tube should have the morals to edit online videos, because they have problems among a lot of countries. In Thailand, it was blocked because of offending the government. You tube said that the site had not done any illegal thing. There are materials that are offensive materials on the grounds of race, religious things, sex, and terrible violence. They need to use editorial power and have responsibility. This article’s problems are bad influence, responsibility, and relationships with another countries.

First, they should use the power to edit the videos. All people can watch the videos in the world. They should have enforce sense of modesty to follow You Tube. Infection should not happen to kids. For example, there are sex, violence, and racism. These are not good for children’s education. They have to be protected from these things.

Second, the company should manage the site rightly. They have a duty to oversee all the time, because You Tube can be shared with anybody. Any company can succeed by the right work with responsibility. The policy makes them good and big. Lately, trust is so important in our society. Because trust makes our relationship good in globalization.

Third, relationships between countries are so important in the world. You Tube that is shared with so many countries though Internet all over the world. It shows us a variety of videos anytime. They are including about religion and race. So they should not release unlike things or biased things. These cause problems with a lot of countries. If You Tube is over look all the time, they have good relationships with countries.

In conclusion, You Tube gives us bad influences. And, they have to show us videos with responsibility. Next, the company should try to make good relationships with being directed and edited for kids and people in the world. Therefore, censorship on the Internet is very important. People also use the Internet rightly.

Information problems
Jo Twist (2005), in “Controversy blights UN net summit” said that UN summit asserts that sharing information should be a freedom in cyberspace and we need to be watched about forums and international standards in the world. More than 170 countries and 17,000 participants joined the world summit, which was the biggest we had ever had, in Tunis. Poorer countries need support of funds more. Information should be shared equally and rightly. Our problems in cyberspace are differences between poor countries and rich countries, appropriate information, and crimes.
First, in the world, there are a variety of things among countries. Poor countries have insufficient management of the net and technology, because of a lack of funds. A variety of differences make unfairness in the world. For example, although rich countries can do anything like having high technology and management, on the other hand, these are difficult for poor countries to do by themselves. We have to effort to decrease differences between each other and support funds for freedom of information.
Second, information has to be censored and managed rightly for people, and then people can use the Internet safety. We can get wrong information and irrelevant influence anytime in the Internet. Everybody can watch videos whatever they want, even children. For example, there are pornography and violence. They might be affected badly by this information from You Tube.
Third, Internet can be used for crimes, because they tell a lot of lies, you can lie, and even make economic fraud, on the Internet. For example, people can buy and sell products easily in Internet. Some people swindle people out of money. People should watch things to the end to notice whether the information is right or not.
In conclusion, Internet problems happen among advanced nations and developing countries. We have to support each other about freedom to get information, although problem happens because of differences. And, we have to get right information from the Internet. And then, people should avoid doing criminal things on the net. I hope that we can share information equally in the world, and we use the Internet adequately.
