Whose tube? ; Censorship and Internet
The author of “whose Tube ? : Censorship and Internet” (April 14, 2007) said that You Tube should have the morals to edit online videos, because they have problems among a lot of countries. In Thailand, it was blocked because of offending the government. You tube said that the site had not done any illegal thing. There are materials that are offensive materials on the grounds of race, religious things, sex, and terrible violence. They need to use editorial power and have responsibility. This article’s problems are bad influence, responsibility, and relationships with another countries.
First, they should use the power to edit the videos. All people can watch the videos in the world. They should have enforce sense of modesty to follow You Tube. Infection should not happen to kids. For example, there are sex, violence, and racism. These are not good for children’s education. They have to be protected from these things.
Second, the company should manage the site rightly. They have a duty to oversee all the time, because You Tube can be shared with anybody. Any company can succeed by the right work with responsibility. The policy makes them good and big. Lately, trust is so important in our society. Because trust makes our relationship good in globalization.
Third, relationships between countries are so important in the world. You Tube that is shared with so many countries though Internet all over the world. It shows us a variety of videos anytime. They are including about religion and race. So they should not release unlike things or biased things. These cause problems with a lot of countries. If You Tube is over look all the time, they have good relationships with countries.
In conclusion, You Tube gives us bad influences. And, they have to show us videos with responsibility. Next, the company should try to make good relationships with being directed and edited for kids and people in the world. Therefore, censorship on the Internet is very important. People also use the Internet rightly.
